Beam Break is a fun, hands-on way to start exploring concepts of acceleration, velocity, and movement using Hot Wheels Cars. The Rover is an add-on and REQUIRES a Piper Make Starter Expedition Kit with the Raspberry Pi Pico to get started (sold separately).

Using infrared sensors to detect when your Hot Wheels Car “breaks the beam” while racing down a Hot Wheels track, users will learn the basics of using sensors in the physical world and doing calculations in code – all while racing to the finish! This kit includes two lessons free and accessible on make.playpiper.com, look for the Beam Break and Car Race missions.
